Melissa & Andy are far from traditional. When I met them, they expressed to me how they are the least "wedding-y" people and would rather be spending their time hiking or traveling. So it wasn't a surprise when Melissa called me a few months prior to her wedding date and said "we decided to elope in our backyard and then just do a party on the date we have scheduled." Along with it I went!
The elopement happened in September and included Melissa, Andy, the JOP, & myself...oh! and the cats of course. Melissa said she was going for "Jenny" in Forrest Gump and aside from her similar casual beauty, her endearing and quirky demeanor hit the nail on the head. And Andy has a smile and sweet presence that just melts your heart.
They took me to this magical woods near their home for the "formals" and it was a photographer's dream! A boardwalk surrounded by greenery...everywhere!
Two months later (in November) they had their "real wedding" at the 1620 Winery in Plymouth, MA. This was the day that family and friends could shower them with love and it was also a beautifully casual day.
