Vermont | Olga & Jonathan

Updated: Nov 13, 2018

Olga & Jonathan's wedding was...um...a dream. It was in Vermont at a Summer Camp facility called Hosmer Point. We (my boyfriend and I) arrived the night before the wedding and, in true summer camp fashion, found our names and cabin number on a check-in list with a flashlight. After driving down steep, rooted, dirt roads we found our cozy, screened-in cabin directly next to the lake. Across the lake we saw a big campfire and heard laughing and music. We wandered over with our headlamps to meet the bride and groom and their friends and family. There was a water slide into the lake, a make-shift sauna, a boat house filled with life vests and SUPs, hammocks, and the coolest campground bathrooms I've ever seen. To sum up, night number one was awesome and my photography brain was firing with all of the possibilities for the next day.

Saturday came. I met Olga and her bridesmaids in a cabin up on a hill overlooking the Vermont mountains. Man did she look beautiful. I hung the dresses from a cabin loft and had her dance around with her flower crown on. The boys were next and this is where I met their gorgeous puppy, Smokey. As if this day couldn't get any better - Smokey is a schnauzer and anyone who knows me knows that schnauzers are one of my biggest weaknesses.

The ceremony site was too beautiful to adequately explain. Their friend, Steve, made a gorgeous, heptagon-shaped alter and their was a fire warming the crowd. The best part, in my opinion, was Smokey. He made his presence very known, which ultimately demonstrated that there is another Dog Mom (like me) who would do anything for her dog - including stopping her wedding ceremony to snuggle him. Their love affair continued all the way down to the dock for formals and I think it's better if you just see for yourself...

The rest of the day was equally amazing. Jonathan cried, a lot, which just demonstrated how deeply connected he was to the entire process...my kind of groom! They were both so gracious and appreciative of me in a way that truly moved me. Driving home on Sunday left me with such a high AND my boyfriend and I feel like if we ever get married, it will be at Hosmer Point because of the impact that it had on us.

What a wedding to remember - thank you Jonathan and Olga!
