Melissa & Alan emailed me about their wedding last summer...their wedding in Vermont. For those of you who know me, I fucking love Vermont but, really, who doesn't? They told me that they were getting married at the West Mountain Inn in Arlington and as soon as I googled it, I became immediately excited.
West Mountain Inn is the coziest old Inn with quirks and beauty everywhere. It is a Vermont venue that is fully equipped with a beautiful old barn, adirondack chairs overlooking the mountains, and a fire pit for the after party. Really, this place is a photographer's dream.
Their wedding day was perfect. It was filled with close friends and family, dancing, no service so complete participation from the guests, and DOGS. They made it very clear to me during their engagement session that they wanted their dog son, Luke, to be a big part of their wedding day (it's like they designed their wedding around my dream wedding).
What I loved the most about their wedding was how frequently Melissa, Alan, and their guests made me feel like a guest, too. They were all so friendly and thankful for my presence. I did not feel like a hired person, but a family member who was celebrating with them. Oh! And Melissa looked like a goddam model so that was nice too.
